Job description

We are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor, based in Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln or Nottingham, to join our Kier Design business. You will provide design and professional services across various sectors, including the built environment, for both public and private sector clients.

Location: Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln or Nottingham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - with some flexibility available. Please specify your preferred hours when you speak to us.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per year + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys of existing buildings and sites, prepare reports on their condition, and advise on repairs, maintenance, or redevelopment options.
  • Provide guidance on building conditions, health & safety, sustainability, planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Travel across the UK for site inspections, client meetings, and surveys.
  • Support procurement processes, project manage delivery, and oversee contract administration.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and support quality assurance of surveying services.
  • Assist in business development by maintaining client relationships and contributing to proposals and tenders.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline; RICS-accredited or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Chartered status with RICS or CIOB.
  • Extensive experience in building surveying across various building types and sectors, with familiarity in procurement and contract administration (JCT, NEC).
