Job summary

JLL in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy team. You will work with investor clients and internal departments to deliver holistic, commercial advice across projects in a busy regional office.

The role requires MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience in a commercial consultancy, strong verbal/numerical skills, and the ability to manage reports, costs and timelines. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• MRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy.
• Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
• Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated.
• Strong verbal and numerical skills, and be comfortable with report writing.
• Excellent time management and general organisational skills.
• Flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Well presented and have excellent communication skills.
• Clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reports
• Preparing specifications for, and administering, repair and refurbishment contracts
• Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations/preparing exit strategies
• Preparing planned preventative maintenance plans
• Undertaking building reinstatement cost assessments
• Assisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
• Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times
• Some travel will be required in this role

Senior Building Surveyor

An opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy department in Birmingham.The team deals with a range of investor clients, including Mileway, Hammerson plc , Aviva, Legal & General, RLAM, RailPen and Aberdeen Standard Investments, corporate occupier clients such as Barclaysand Bunzl.

The successful candidate will join a busy regional office and be working alongside other internal departments such as Investment, Agency, Managed Services, Valuations, Lease Advisory, Planning and Rating, to provide holistic, commercial advice to our clients.

We are looking for an outward-looking, ‘all-rounder’ Building Surveyor with a sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.

What this job involves
