Job summary

Bovis is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee building services for a multi-zone project. You will lead M&E delivery, drive strategies, and ensure high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a focus on safety, risk, and on-time delivery across major commercial developments.

Qualifications

  • Chartered status such as CIBSE or equivalent.
  • BSc or MSc in Project Management in Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience delivering major commercial projects.
  • Experience delivering medium to large-scale commercial buildings (£80m+).
  • Pre-construction and site establishment experience.
  • Experience dealing with clients, contractors and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and develop environments for delivery staff.
  • Create detailed project strategy, plan, schedule and manage delivery.
  • Maintain high quality standards and ensure right-first-time construction.
  • Establish and maintain communication with all stakeholders.
  • Review costs and controls across the project.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage building services for an exciting multi-zone project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, meeting the high standards expected by our company and stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as you will work closely with multi-disciplinary project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities -
  • Provide leadership in the creation of skills, well-being and develop a supportive work environment for delivery staff.
  • Creating a detailed project strategy, plan and schedule and managing the project delivery within that plan ensuring the maximum outcomes for the client and Bovis.
  • Ensure quality is at a consistently high level and proactively identify quality issues, setting up and monitoring systems and outputs to ensure right first-time construction.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate communication and record keeping with all project stakeholders.
  • Review all costs and controls.
  • Build and maintain a qualified and experienced team. Managing the performance and development of the project team through coaching, mentoring and building the required skills and experience to ensure Bovis is recognised as a place people want to work and excels in project delivery.
  • Processes and Systems, use and promote Bovis standard tools and systems to deliver a successful outcome
  • Risk Management, develop a comprehensive understanding of project risk and through communication and collaboration.

  • Accountable for the implementation and compliance with all Bovis safety requirements across staff, contractors and work practices ensuring appropriate records are maintained and required reports are available.
  • Recognise and reward safe behaviours and practices.
  • Review the EHS plans and regularly review lessons learnt. Review the project sustainability objectives and targets ensuring compliance with Bovis standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors/subcontracts) and develop trust and confidence
Credentials
  • Have a related Chartership such as CIBSE
  • Professional Construction Qualifications relevant to the role (BSc or MSc in Project Management in Engineering).
Skills
  • High emotional intelligence and able to demonstrate key leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful construction projects.
  • Management and mentoring of staff and development of skills.
  • Experience of project planning and resource allocation & managing design teams.
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and lead the construction delivery team and construction workforce.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible in recognising where working methods require adapting and changing to suit a change in project needs or new challenges.
  • Demonstrate an ability to ensure delivery of work packages and in places betterment of commercial targets.
  • Ability to provide leadership in the creation of skills, well-being and develop a supportive work environment for delivery staff.
  • Ability to manage the project delivery within a timely manner to ensure the maximum outcomes for the client and Bovis
Knowledge
  • An in-depth knowledge of the construction process and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of current construction laws, legislations, and regulations, standards and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Understanding of programme duration and sequencing of works of relevant aspects of construction.
Experience
  • Pre-construction and site establishment experience.
  • Experience of dealing with clients, contractors and construction activities.
  • Design, procurement, construction and delivery experience.
  • Experience in the delivery of medium to large scale commercial projects (£80m + in construction value).
  • Demonstratable experience of the delivery of major commercial office buildings.
