Senior Building Services Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Warrington

Type: Permanent

Purpose of the Job

The Senior Building Services Engineer defines and distributes the scope of work to ensure that the project is executed safely, on time, and at appropriate levels of quality. The role is responsible for delivering design and engineering solutions that meet technical specifications.

Key Accountabilities

• Developing designs and documentation to satisfy technical specifications
• Producing design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
• Checking and approving discipline-specific design outputs
• Contributing to design and safety reviews
• Ensuring quality and timeliness of design documentation across all phases
• Ensuring compliance with safety legislation, industry standards, and statutory regulations
• Developing cost-effective technical solutions
• Staff development and management
• Promoting safety culture and managing safety risks
• Managing contractors and suppliers
• Providing technical consultancy and support during site surveys, installation, and commissioning

Skills and Knowledge

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or demonstrable experience
• Working towards or holding Chartership in a relevant engineering institution

Duties and Requirements

• Strong understanding of core engineering principles
• Experience in designing Building Services, including ventilation and piped services
• Proven success in delivering design solutions
• Good knowledge of safety legislation and regulations
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Commercial awareness
• Experience leading design teams and managing subcontractors
• Experience in bid preparation

Desirable

• Full membership and CEng status in a relevant engineering institution
• Knowledge of design software and outputs
• Experience with containment and process ventilation systems
• Experience in design substantiation and working in regulated industries like nuclear
