Job Description

Job Title: Senior Building Services Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE

Location: Coventry

Our client is looking for a Senior / Intermediate Building Services Engineer with 7+ years of experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed construction-level P&ID designs for large-scale heat pump-focused energy centres, district networks, and sub-plantroom changeovers.

Projects mainly consist of Low Carbon Energy Centres, including but not limited to Heat Pumps, CHP plant, boilers, ASHP, packaged plantrooms, district networks, and sub-plantroom changeovers. Responsibilities include design, controls, flushing, testing, and commissioning. Project sizes range from 200kW to 40MW.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support internal teams with design and technical queries.
2. Understand design briefs and carry out P&ID design/checks.
3. Prepare BOM and Equipment Schedules from P&ID.
4. Develop concept designs to full detailed construction level (RIBA stage 6).
5. Liaise with other departments (Sales, Engineering, Fabrication, etc.).
6. Conduct site surveys with senior team members to capture existing system details.
7. Maintain high awareness of current safety legislation and implementation.
8. Demonstrate proven detailed design experience in the renewables sector.
9. Successfully deliver designs and manage multiple projects at different phases.
10. Handle complex tasks/projects simultaneously.
11. Manage all technical aspects of projects.
12. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
13. Work effectively within tight timescales and demonstrate self-starting initiative.
14. Willing to commute to Coventry head office daily.
15. Willing to learn and grow with the organization.
