Qualifications

• Significant experience working within Building Control and a thorough understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Experience in plan checking, site inspections, enforcement activities and providing specialist technical advice.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations in a practical, proportionate way.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving and decision making.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload and deadlines.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Examine plans and carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and respond to dangerous structures during working hours.
• Offer professional, solution-focused advice to residents, developers, contractors and advisors.
• Support, mentor and share knowledge with colleagues to promote continuous improvement.
