Senior Building Control Surveyor

Grade I: £41,771 - £46,142 per annum

Cannock Chase Council operate a shared service arrangement with Stafford Borough Council to provide the Building Control service on behalf of both Councils. We are looking for an experienced Building Control Surveyor who is able to cover a whole range of construction projects within the areas covered by both Councils.

We are looking for for a candidate with the appropriate skills, experience and commitment to join our service. You should be a member of a relevant professional body, such as CABE, CIOB or RICS. You must be familiar with the regulatory regime for Building Control and you will need to be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2 Category A - D Building Inspector.

We have a very strong building control team who are focused on providing an excellent service to our clients. Team members are experienced and registered to work independently in accordance with their level of competency. The team includes well resourced and dedicated administrative support.

You should have experience of working within Building Control and knowlege of applying the building regulations and associated legislation to a variety of construction projects.

You will be an excellent communicator who is able to supervise and develop others within the Building Control Team e.g. trainees, other registered building inspectors.

The Council are committed to supporting you in this role. This includes generous annual leave, up to 1.5 flexi days in each 4 week period, payment of professional and registration fees, access to MyLABC training package and hybrid home working arrangements.
