Senior Building Control Officer

Role Overview

The council is responsible for a wide range of local government functions, including social services, transport, public health, parks, planning, trading standards, community safety, and education. They are seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join their Building Control team.

Key Projects

There are several large projects in the pipeline, such as major residential schemes, seafront leisure developments, and day-to-day householder projects.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Building Control function, ensuring compliance with the Building Act and related legislation concerning health and safety, welfare, and convenience of persons in or around buildings.
  • Conduct site inspections, plan checking, and enforcement actions.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) and registered Building Inspector.
  • Prior experience in Building Control is essential.
  • Own vehicle for work purposes, with regular site inspections within the borough.
