Our Client is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Building Control Surveyor (Class 2E) to join their Building Control team within the Planning, Quality and Control Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring safe, sustainable, and compliant development across our borough.
About the roleAs a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you will:



Manage and assess a varied caseload of building projects, including plan appraisals and site inspections.


Ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, Building Act 1984, fire and life safety standards, energy efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability requirements.


Investigate dangerous structures, contraventions, and unauthorised works, taking enforcement action where necessary.


Work collaboratively with developers, contractors, partner agencies, and internal teams, providing expert advice and excellent customer service.


Support, mentor, and supervise junior staff within the Building Control service.


About you:
You will be a qualified and registered Building Inspector with:



A degree in Building Surveying or related discipline.


Professional membership of RICS, CABE or CIOB.


Substantial knowledge of Building Regulations, the Building Act 1984, and related legislation.


Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


A track record of managing complex projects and delivering positive outcomes in Building Control.


A full driving licence.
