Job summary

Sweco Building Control in Manchester is seeking a qualified Building Inspector to join our team. You will undertake plan checks, site visits and client meetings, delivering expert building control guidance across projects.

The role requires RBI registration and accreditation with RICS/CABE/CIOB or equivalent, plus a proactive, solution-focused mindset. We offer a flexible hybrid working pattern and opportunities to grow within a leading building control consultancy.

Qualifications

  • RBI registration (class 3GH desirable, minimum class 2F) with a proven track record within Building Control.
  • RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar accreditation.

We are currently looking for a motivated Building Inspector to join our team in Manchester. We operate a hybrid model which for us means typically 3 days in the office or on site and 2 days at home (depending on the need for site visits/clients meetings).

What does the role involve?

You’ll Manage a Broad And Interesting Range Of Projects Where You Will Be a Member Of a Highly Motivated Team And Have Responsibility For

  • Undertaking plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
  • Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports, witnessing tests (therefore a full, valid driving licence is essential).
  • Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.
  • Be familiar with and use the management systems, including complying with the Quality Management system.
  • Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme).
