Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking a Deputy Head of Building Control (Class 3 Specialist) in Colindale, Barnet. This permanent role offers hybrid working and a salary of £65,262 – £72,266, reflecting senior leadership responsibilities in a busy Building Control team.

You will manage inspectors, deputise for the Head of Building Control, and provide expert technical advice on complex projects while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and relevant acts.

Qualifications

• Substantial Building Control experience across diverse developments.
• Experience leading in complex, high-risk buildings.
• Must hold a relevant degree/qualification with Chartered membership.
• Class 3 Building Inspector registration or equivalent competency.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations 2010, Building Act 1984, and BSR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and mentor a team of Building Control inspectors.
• Deputise for the Head of Building Control when required.
• Oversee complex and high-risk building projects and plan appraisals.
• Conduct site inspections and enforce Building Regulations compliance.
• Provide expert technical advice and prepare reports.
