Job summary

RED Engineering Design in London seeks a fully experienced Senior BMS Engineer to be based at our London office. The role involves designing and specifying building management and automation systems for complex, energy-efficient projects across international clients.

You will review designs, produce sequences of operation, attend tests, and lead a project team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in BMS, relevant chartership progress, and willingness to travel for international assignments.

Qualifications

• HNC/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• MCIBSE/MIEE/IMechE/MIET or working towards Chartered Engineer status
• Experience as a BMS/BEMS/Building Automation Consulting Engineer
• Experience of building automation, instrumentation and monitoring systems
• Understanding of networks and network security
• Ability to lead design reviews and produce reports and SOO documents
• Familiar with major control systems vendors (Schneider, Siemens, Trend)
• Willingness to travel internationally and work with global clients
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Support design and specification of new build mechanical & electrical installations in complex buildings
• Produce points lists for control systems
• Write Sequence of Operation from design review
• Produce specifications and plan drawings
• Prepare early-stage reports for client sign-off
• Review contractor proposals for compliance with design specs
• Carry out condition surveys and prepare improvement plans
• Represent the company in technical meetings with clients and contractors
• Coordinate tests and commissioning activities
