Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks a highly experienced Principal BMS Engineer to lead large-scale building management and control system projects from our London office. You will coordinate engineering services, develop specifications, and ensure robust, safe operation of complex technology-based buildings.

The role requires advanced knowledge of building automation, networking, and instrumentation, with a track record of delivering multi-discipline collaboration and client-facing leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of building automation, instrumentation and monitoring systems.
• Understanding of networks, network hardware, cabling and network security.
• Ability to lead control system designs and report outputs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• 6+ Years’ experience at Senior Engineer level or above.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the running of large projects. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Control systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops designs and specifications for new build mechanical and electrical installations in many building types, in particular within complex technology-based buildings where close control and extensive monitoring systems are required.
• Produce points lists for Control Systems
• Generate Serial and IP based Controls Network Layout drawings and Schematic Architectures
• Write Sequence of Operation documents from review of MEP designs and through discussion and agreement with design engineers.
