Role Overview: Senior Broker

What the day will look like

As a Senior Broker, your key responsibilities will include:

Core functional activity:
  • Client relationship management (direct clients and/or network)
Secondary functional activity:
  • Providing benchmarking and placement advice to clients
  • Establishing and managing pipeline
  • Presenting terms to clients/network
  • Reviewing, creating, and enhancing submissions
  • Reviewing draft/final MRC
  • Firm order broking (Ebix/wet stamps/email)
  • Following market broking
  • Managing market relationships
  • Defining marketing strategy (specific to placement)
  • Recording broking activity in market sheets
  • Providing invoicing instructions
  • Offering technical wording advice to clients/network
  • Providing technical training/guidance to colleagues
  • Coaching and mentoring
Occasional (optional) activities:
  • Sending initial engagement to clients/network
  • Sending cover confirmation
  • Scanning/indexing final slips
  • Issuing invoices
  • Responding to account queries
  • Creating bespoke wordings/clauses
  • Conducting reviews (file, technical, peer)
Skills and Experience for Success

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong understanding of London insurance market dynamics and processes
  • Extensive knowledge of Financial Lines insurance in the London Market
  • Proficiency with insurance industry IT systems
  • Experience managing client relationships effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of compliance and FCA regulations
