Job Description

The Role

The Senior Broker for Natural Resources (Downstream) in London is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and prospects, ensuring the delivery of optimal terms and conditions to meet client requirements. The role reports to the Head of Broking for the Line of Business.

The key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing broking and placement strategies in collaboration with the Account Director and Executive.
  2. Reviewing slips for key clauses and the Commission Grid Brokerage.
  3. Negotiating terms with lead and follow carriers.
  4. Ensuring market subjectivities are clear and actionable.
  5. Managing binding of markets and removal of subjectivities.
  6. Communicating broking progress to the Account Director and Account Executive.
  7. Accurately completing and binding markets on the PPL platform.
  8. Completing the Broking Platform for all lines placed and closing placements before inception.
  9. Ensuring timely agreement of slips and endorsements by markets to meet client deadlines.
  10. Supporting AD/AE in client meetings, prospecting, and joint account planning.
  11. Supporting revenue growth initiatives related to SMB, engineering, and commission.
  12. Contributing to RFPs with market insights, marketing strategy, placement structure, and pricing.
  13. Building and maintaining relationships with carriers and supporting the carrier management team.
  14. Providing market insights on rating trends, emerging insurer focus areas, and changes to terms and conditions.
