Job summary

AECOM in Croydon seeks a Senior Bridges Engineer to deliver rail and road bridge schemes from concept through detailed design. The team focuses on assessments, feasibility, and multidisciplinary projects for private and public sector clients in London, the Southeast, and beyond.

The role includes supervision of graduates, client liaison, tender production, and cost control, with a strong emphasis on quality and timely delivery. Hybrid working supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with MSc preferred.
• Chartered status or near Chartered with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake rail and/or road bridge and structures schemes from inspection through detailed design.
• Hands-on technical design of road/rail structures.
• Assist with commercial and financial control of projects.
• Supervise graduates and technicians; plan and manage projects.
• Produce tenders, quality docs and costings; write technical reports.
