Job summary

The Part-Time Finance People are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to work with clients in Liverpool on a two-day-a-week, self-employed basis. You will manage day-to-day accounting, invoicing, supplier and payroll tasks, and assist with cashflow forecasting for SME clients.

Location is Liverpool (onsite). The role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work across multiple industries, focusing on practical, commercially-minded accounting support.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced Finance Manager with SME experience.
• Self-employed/contract basis with two days per week availability.
• Experience managing client accounting across multiple industries.

Job description

Senior Bookkeeper wanted for clients in Liverpool

About the Role: The role is to work with our clients in their business, this could be within a variety of industries including professional services, manufacturing, retail/wholesale, construction, technology or media. We’re looking for an experienced and commercially-minded Finance Manager to look after the day-to-day accounting, streamline the accounting processes, and help move the business forward, on a part-time basis.

About You

You should be a qualified and experienced Finance Manager with experience working in growing SMEs. Ideally, you are already self-employed, with at least 2 days of availability per week.

Your expertise should include:

• Customer invoicing and sales ledger management
• Credit control and debtor reporting to directors
• Supplier invoices and purchase ledger management
• Drafting payment runs for approval
• Supplier reconciliations
• Bank postings and reconciliations
• Expense and credit card management and reconciliation
• VAT returns
• Payroll (possibly) and pension administration
• Month-end journals including depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
• Input into cashflow forecasts
• Double entry Bookkeeping

As this role is two days a week (self-employed basis) it could work alongside other client work

Rate of pay

£22.50 per hour
