Job summary

ProTalent Limited invites applications for a Senior Bookkeeper in Norwich. You will run day-to-day bookkeeping and management accounts, review junior staff work, and handle VAT/MTD returns using AI-assisted tools to streamline processes.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 or ICB MICB/FICB qualification or strong QBE.
• At least 3 years' multi-client experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Confident with VAT, MTD and management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Running the day-to-day bookkeeping and reporting planner, so work flows and deadlines are hit.
• Reviewing junior colleagues' bookkeeping, spotting patterns and training errors out rather than quietly fixing them.
• Preparing and submitting VAT and MTD returns.
• Preparing monthly management accounts, with variance analysis and commentary.
• Processing and reviewing bookkeeping in Dext, FreeAgent, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Using AI to speed up file reviews, draft client queries and pull insight from the numbers.
• Spotting bottlenecks and clearing them, rather than letting queries sit.
