Job Title: Bookkeeper in Accountancy Practice
Location: Bexhill
Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
Software: Predominantly Quickbooks but Xero and Sage are desirable

Are you an experienced bookkeeper with a background in accountancy practice? Do you enjoy managing your own portfolio of clients and being part of a supportive, collaborative team? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role:
Our client, a well-established and friendly accountancy practice based in Bexhill, is looking for a confident and capable bookkeeper to join their growing team. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you’ll provide high-quality bookkeeping services and play a key role in supporting the wider accounts function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients across a range of industries

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals

  • Bank reconciliations and VAT returns

  • Prepare and submit data using Xero and QuickBooks

  • Liaise with clients directly and provide guidance when needed

  • Work closely with other team members to support client delivery

  • Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and deadlines

About You:

  • Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks

  • Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills

  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

  • AAT qualification (or similar) would be beneficial but not essential
