Protocol Security at Coinbase ensures the safety of all onchain development. We collaborate with product teams to enable secure user engagement with the onchain world.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop onchain security strategies, perform security assessments, and threat modeling of blockchain protocols.
2. Lead proactively, identify top security risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
3. Provide technical guidance in building frameworks, analysis tools, and security products.
4. Establish best practices and promote adoption across teams.
5. Mentor team members in blockchain security skills and foster a crypto-forward mindset.
6. Help set industry standards for blockchain security technologies.

Qualifications:

1. Extensive knowledge of onchain ecosystems, including L1, L2, DeFi, staking, etc.
2. Expertise in identifying vulnerabilities in smart contracts and protocols.
3. 3+ years in smart contract auditing, leading complex protocol audits.
4. Self-driven with a passion for continuous learning in a rapidly evolving space.
5. Experience mentoring blockchain security engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
6. Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Ability to think strategically while managing tactical execution.

Target annual salary: £138,600 — £154,000 GBP, plus bonus, equity, and benefits including health coverage.
