Spire Leedsis currently looking for an experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist Quality Lead to join the Pathology Department on a full time, permanent basis.
The pathology quality lead role covers all aspects of Pathology at the Leeds hub and Yorkshire spoke sites this covers all disciplines.
In addition, we require the candidate to be able to demonstrate Haematology Specialist knowledge and to take on the Haematology section lead role at the Leeds hub and Yorkshire spoke sites.
Spire Leeds Hospital, located in Roundhay, Leeds, has been treating patients for almost 30 years. We are the regions largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week
Duties and responsibilities
To assist in the organisation, management and development of services within a specialised area of the pathology service, or across a range of services provided by the laboratory at Hub Hospital and support the provision of pathology services for spoke site Hospitals
To liaise with the Laboratory Consultant and the Pathology Manager, to ensure the provision of the high quality service in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Take a lead role in the local implementation of the pathology quality management system, in accordance with UKAS requirements and corporate recommendations.
To liaise with the National Pathology Quality Management Team in relation to local hub and spoke laboratory Quality Management systems and accreditation status
