Overview

Senior Biomedical Scientist POCT (part time) at Queens Hospital Burton POCT team. This is a part time role (Wednesday- Friday). Closing date: 07 October 2025.

An exciting opportunity to join the Queens Hospital Burton POCT team.

Main duties of the job

To act as lead scientist, performing specialist work within their section of responsibility and advising the Operational Manager on service developments required to ensure effective, efficient and safe practices.

Responsible for the day to day management of approximately 5 WTE staff. This may be shared with other Senior BMS staff. Responsible for ensuring most cost effective use of equipment and consumables, assisting the operational manager with financial and budgetary requirements. Responsible for the day to day processing of samples in the relevant section and authorisation of clinical results in order to maintain agreed KPI's.
