Role Details
- The role is based full-time onsite in our Clinical Lab in Oxfordshire (Kidlington OX5 1LH).
Shift Work
- Work on a shift basis between 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, scheduled weekly on a rota by your Line Manager.

About This Role
Join Diagnexia as a Senior Biomedical Scientist to lead in Clinical Research Pathology, overseeing laboratory sections, mentoring staff, and leading Immunohistochemistry operations. This role offers an opportunity to drive innovation and ensure high standards in experimental pathology.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily lab work including sample collection, handling, method validation, and safety compliance.
- Lead pathology lab sections, mentor staff, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Conduct staff training, oversee validation and documentation, and ensure quality compliance with UKAS/ISO standards.
- Manage equipment calibration, inventory, troubleshooting, and present reports.
- Maintain safety protocols and participate in lab meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with the quality team to ensure ISO 15189 compliance, oversee audits and incident investigations.
- Drive excellence in Immunohistochemistry and collaborate with clinicians and researchers.
- Engage in research, validate new methods, and ensure regulatory compliance including GDPR.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Degree in Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- 7+ years in Pathology, with expertise in Histology, Immunohistochemistry, and Special Stains.
- 3+ years in Histopathology, experience in UKAS-accredited labs, and completion of IBMS Higher Specialist Portfolio or a Master's Degree.
Additional Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in advanced lab techniques, mentorship skills, troubleshooting, and data analysis tools like R or Python.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and knowledge of GLP and quality assurance frameworks.
