Senior Biomedical Scientist - Virology

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our Virology team. This role is based within the Pathology Department at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 7JL. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £52,488 - £62,978 per annum

Job Profile:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology team. As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will support the Chief BMS in providing an efficient and effective service and will work alongside Microbiology team members and leaders to cultivate and maintain a culture in which staff are continuously improving to deliver a high quality, efficient and effective service.

• Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position.
• Shifts Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday
• Salary: £52,488 - £62,978 per annum dependent on skills and experience.

Key Duties:

• Supervise in the sections appropriate and carry out as well as manage the technical and scientific tasks within the team.
• Oversee and support equipment maintenance and development of the Quality, Learning and Health and safety Management Systems within designated work area.
• Carry out / supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief Biomedical Scientist or Consultant
• Work alongside Microbiology team members and leaders to cultivate and maintain a culture in which staff are continuously improving to deliver a high quality, efficient and effective service

Skills and Experience:

• HCPC post- registration Microbiology laboratory experience
• Current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• Working knowledge of ISO 15189 requirements
• Comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of Microbiology (especially Virology)
• Previous experience in Microbiology of at least 5 years
