Job summary

Talentmark is recruiting a Senior Bioinformatician on a 12-month contract for a major pharmaceutical company. The role is hybrid with 2–3 days on site in Bracknell and the remainder remote.

You will analyse large-scale single-cell and bulk transcriptomics data, develop new computational methods, and build scalable workflows for atlas-scale datasets, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to inform portfolio decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistical genetics, or related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience analyzing large-scale single-cell or single-nucleus data.
• Track record of developing computational methods or tools.

Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior Bioinformatician

to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry on a contract basis for 12 months.

This role is hybid with 2/3 days on site in Bracknell and the rest home working.

Rates are dependent upon experience.

Role:

• Analyse large-scale single-cell, bulk transcriptomics and other omics datasets.
• Develop new computational methods that extract biological insight from them.
• Build scalable, well-tested and documented software and workflows for atlas-scale data (millions of cells) and high-dimensional proteomics.
• Act as the analytical point of contact within multidisciplinary scientific collaborations from analysis plan through to publication or portfolio decision.
• Translate complex findings into clear recommendations for project teams and leadership.

Your Background:

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistical genetics, statistics or a related quantitative discipline, or an MSc with equivalent industry experience.
• Hands‑on experience analysing single‑cell or single‑nucleus transcriptomic data at scale, including QC, integration, annotation and differential analysis.
• A demonstrated track record of developing computational methods or tools.
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics or spatial proteomics platforms, such as Visium, Xenium, MERFISH or CosMx.
• Experience with deep generative or foundation models for single‑cell data, such as scVI-tools, scGPT or Geneformer.
