Job summary

Loom Talent is recruiting a Senior Bids and Tender Manager for a global 3PL provider. The role covers end-to-end bid management, strategy development, pricing oversight and compliant tender responses across UK operations with Midlands travel required.

You will coordinate commercial, operations, finance and IT teams to craft winning proposals, manage client interactions and ensure timely submissions while maintaining governance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in bid or tender management (Senior level).
• End-to-end tender process experience including qualification, strategy, submission and negotiations.
• Experience with complex, high-value tenders in logistics or contract environments.
• Strong pricing, profitability understanding and commercial modelling.
• APMP accreditation or familiarity is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end bid lifecycle from qualification to post-submission clarifications.
• Assess bid opportunities for fit, viability, and risk; align with capability and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, finance, and IT to design winning logistics solutions.
• Create pricing models and costings for multi-site services.

Role: Senior Bids and Tender ManagerSector: 3PL Contract LogisticsLocation: UK/Midlands travelPackage: £70,000 - £80,000 + £6k Car / Allowance, 15% Bonus & Package The Company Loom Talent have been exclusively engaged by an established global 3PL provider, who have a primary focus on delivering unrivalled levels of service and innovative warehousing & transport solutions across the UK. The business boasts an already impressive UK customer portfolio spanning; Retail, E-Commerce, Fashion and FMCG. This role offers a flexible location across the UK, with midlands travel 2-3 days a week.

Key Duties of a Senior Bids and Tender Manager

• End-to-End Bid Management - Lead the full bid life cycle - from qualification and strategy development to submission and post-submission clarifications.
• Tender Qualification & Risk Assessment - Evaluate bid opportunities for fit, commercial viability, and operational deliverability, ensuring alignment with business capability and risk appetite.
• Bid Strategy & Solution Design - Collaborate with commercial, operations, finance, and IT teams to develop compelling, cost-effective, and innovative logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
• Commercial Modelling & Pricing Oversight - Lead the creation of pricing models and costings, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability across multi-site and multi-service solutions (e.g. warehousing, transport, value-added services).
• Content Creation & Proposal Writing - Write and develop high-quality, persuasive, and compliant tender responses, executive summaries, and supporting documentation aligned to client specifications.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Project Management - Coordinate cross-functional internal teams and manage time lines to deliver high-quality bid submissions on time and in full.
• Client Interface & Clarification Handling - Engage with prospective clients to clarify requirements, present bid strategies, and support negotiation processes where required.
• Market Intelligence & Benchmarking - Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market pricing to inform bid positioning and decision-making.
• Continuous Improvement - Drive bid process enhancements, maintain a library of proposal content, and implement lessons learned for future submissions.
• Governance & Compliance - Ensure all bids comply with internal governance, legal, and commercial standards, as well as any regulatory or contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Bid or Tender Management, ideally at Senior Manager level.
• Proven end-to-end tender management experience, from qualification and bid strategy through to submission, presentations, negotiations and contract award.
• 3PL / Contract Logistics experience, with a strong understanding of warehousing and logistics operations.
• Experience of managing complex, high-value tenders within logistics, supply chain or other contract-based environments.
• Strong understanding of commercial models, pricing, profitability and contract negotiations.
• Experience developing bid strategies, value propositions and win themes to differentiate proposals and improve win rates.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Business Development, Solution Design, Operations, Finance and Legal.
• Experience with APMP or recognised bid management methodologies; APMP accreditation would be advantageous.
• Previous people management or team leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop Tender Managers is desirable
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple complex tenders and competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• A strategic and commercially minded approach, with the ability to improve tender processes, governance and overall bid performance.

The Package

• Salary - £70,000 to £80,000.
