Senior Bid Writer Commercial Officer

Location: Bedfordshire


Salary: £45k - £53k (dependent on experience) + excellent benefits + 26 days holiday + bank holidays


A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial Officer / Bid Writer to join a well-established engineering R&D company based in Bedfordshire. The company focuses on developing disruptive technology to revolutionise high-precision engineering industries such as Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive, and more!


This role involves joining a friendly commercial team responsible for ensuring proposals to customers are correctly presented, priced, developed, and approved. The Bid Writer / Commercial Officer will also support contract negotiations, agreements, and help establish a robust commercial framework to deliver top-tier capabilities to customers.

Requirements for Senior Bid Writer / Commercial Officer:
  • Recent and relevant experience within a commercial team, including Bid Managers, to understand customer requirements and lead the development of commercial solutions and proposals.
  • Experience in bid planning, commercial inputs, and milestones.
  • Experience managing the risk-based approach (RBA) process.
  • Skilled in preparing high-quality proposals for customer submission.
  • Good awareness of governance processes and best commercial practices.

Note: Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be able to obtain security clearance, including a minimum of 5 years of continual UK residency.

  • Experience supporting contract closure would be advantageous.
