Senior Bid Writer Commercial Officer

Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: GBP45k - GBP53k (depending on experience) + excellent benefits + 26 days holiday + bank holidays

A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial Officer / Bid Writer to join a well-established engineering R&D company based in Bedfordshire. The company focuses on developing disruptive technology to revolutionise high-precision engineering industries such as Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive, and more.

This role involves joining a friendly commercial team responsible for ensuring proposals to customers are correctly presented, priced, developed, and approved. The Bid Writer / Commercial Officer will also support contract negotiations, agreements, and the development of a robust commercial framework to enable the delivery of top-tier capabilities to customers.

Requirements for Senior Bid Writer / Commercial Officer:
  1. Recent and relevant experience working within a commercial team, including Bid Managers, to understand customer requirements and lead the development of commercial solutions and proposals.
  2. Experience in bid planning, providing commercial inputs, and managing milestones.
  3. Experience leading and managing the Risk-Based Approach (RBA) process.
  4. Skilled in preparing high-quality proposals for customer submission.
  5. Good awareness of governance processes and best commercial practices.
  6. Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be able to obtain security clearance, including the last 5 years of continuous UK residency.
  7. Previous experience supporting contract closure is beneficial.
