Job Description:

Senior BI Developer - Edinburgh or Glasgow Hybrid - 52K plus Bonus

Lorien’s client, a fast-growing, global-reaching SaaS company with a great reputation in their domain, is currently looking to hire a couple of Senior BI Developers / Senior BI Engineers to join their team, help lead and mentor from the front, and play a key role in the next stages of the company’s evolution, including a new version of their core platform and offerings.

This position is ideal for someone with proven expertise in SSRS / PowerBI, a strong record of building technical solutions in the FS/SaaS/FinTech sectors, and experience leading technical projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as an SME for solution configurations, leading the implementation and testing of low-code solutions, and scoping development/testing projects and timelines.
2. Translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
3. Mentor team members, conduct reviews and signoffs, validate releases, and liaise with other technical teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
4. Promote Agile practices within the team, stay updated on new trends and technologies, and contribute to daily standups.

What they’re looking for:

1. Proven experience in software development in a similar role.
2. Strong skills in BI tools such as SSRS or PowerBI, along with SQL, data queries, manipulation, and tuning.
3. Experience with unit, end-to-end, and acceptance testing.
4. Ability to lead technical projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
5. Previous experience in Finance, FinTech, or SaaS environments.
6. Capability to mentor less experienced staff and liaise with external stakeholders.
