  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement and uphold robust data governance and quality assurance practices, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all BI systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units and IT teams to capture reporting requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • BI Capability Transition: Lead the transition of BI services from the shared IT function to an internal capability, ensuring the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a fully independent BI environment.
  • Process Improvement, Automation & Innovation: Identify and drive ongoing enhancements to BI systems and processes, including automation opportunities, to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and leverage emerging technologies that meet evolving business needs.
  • Technical Support & Issue Resolution: Provide second-line support for BI systems, addressing data quality, system performance, and user access challenges.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain comprehensive system documentation and deliver user training to maximise BI tool adoption and proficiency.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Data Analysis & Insight: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in BI reporting, SQL, data modelling, and data warehouse concepts, with a focus on accuracy and scalability.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrates initiative in resolving data issues and implementing data-led solutions to support continuous improvement.
  • BI Transition & Delivery: Capable of overseeing the design, development, and implementation of BI solutions as part of bringing capability in-house.

  • Communication Skills: Able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of data protection, privacy, and integrity requirements, including GDPR and relevant industry regulations affecting financial services and vehicle leasing.
  • Degree-educated in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Considerable experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and data analysis, ideally within the financial services or automotive sector.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and IT project delivery.
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, SAP BusinessObjects, or comparable BI certification in data analysis, reporting, or data warehousing.
  • Sofico Miles, Salesforce, or Dataflow Clarity experience (or equivalent systems knowledge).
  • Proficiency with SQL and ETL tools such as SSIS, with experience in data warehouse architecture, modelling, and optimisation.
  • Familiarity with BI platforms including Business Objects, Pan Intelligence, or similar reporting/visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Knowledge of robotic process automation (e.g., UIPath) in data workflows desirable.
  • Additional qualifications in project or change management (e.g., PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL Foundation) are advantageous.
