A crucial aspect of the Senior Battery Quality Engineer role is ensuring that end-to-end manufacturing processes and systems result in battery packs that meet and exceed customer quality requirements, providing a Modern Luxury experience throughout the vehicle's lifecycle.

Please note that initially, this role will be based at the EPMC, Wolverhampton, as part of the move towards electrification, and later at our site in Whitley, Coventry.

What to Expect:

You will lead a team comprising JLR and Purchased Services process engineers, effectively allocating resources to meet quality objectives and project deadlines.

This role offers the opportunity for periodic overseas travel to collaborate with leading technology suppliers and is part of a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative team, with scope for personal and professional growth.

• Support the delivery of robust battery manufacturing quality systems, focusing on end-to-end coherence across battery sub-systems (Pack, Stack, Frame, and BEM).
• Lead the development of DFMEA, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and related documentation.
• Support the deployment of Manufacturing Engineering Lessons Learned for battery components to ensure robust product, process, and system design.

• Ensure a smooth handover of quality systems and documentation to Plant at Job 1.
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering management and leadership to improve internal quality processes to meet IATF standards and achieve world-class quality.
• Benchmark manufacturing systems, especially battery manufacturing quality systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to establish justification for class-leading quality systems. Embed knowledge via bills of process or similar tools.

What You'll Need:

This is a high-profile position within the GME-P team, requiring varied and demanding skills, including:

• Passion for JLR quality, motivation, and drive to deliver quality levels of Modern Luxury.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and related documentation. Knowledge of Byteworx and Reliasoft is advantageous.
• Good understanding of engineering, including reviewing engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge).
• Experience in a manufacturing operations environment.
• Understanding of battery pack architecture and manufacturing processes.
