Job summary

Nightcap Group is seeking a Duty Manager for our Bristol venues, responsible for leading busy shifts, guiding teams, and upholding brand standards across the bartending, bar back, and floor staff. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes hands-on work, rotas, and stock control while delivering exceptional guest service.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a busy bar as a senior bartender or team leader, with strong communication skills and a proactive, resilient mindset.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience working in a busy bar as a senior bartender or team leader.
• Resilient and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Honest, hardworking, and a team player.
• Confident, self-motivated, and driven professional.
• Methodical and thorough when problem solving.
• Approachable at all times regardless of workload.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Some experience organizing rotas and managing the bar’s labour margin would be beneficial.
• Knowledge in handling stocks, licensing, risk assessments, and health & safety.
• A hands-on manager who isn’t afraid to get behind a station when your team is in the weeds.
• Personal Licence is preferable but not required

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and confidently run busy shifts, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
• Be a team player, supporting your General Manager and team.
• Ensure our bartending team meets the standards of the company.
• Act as a role model for the bartending, bar back, and floor team.
