A prominent bakery in Glasgow is seeking an experienced bread & pastry baker. The ideal candidate should have a passion for French and European artisan baking and be proficient in sourdough techniques. Responsibilities include creating recipes, maintaining high hygiene standards, and contributing to product innovation. Job Description & Requirements
1-5 years of experience or more as a bread & pastry baker is preferred. Work 5.5 days a week with attractive remuneration. Local, SPR are preferred with good track records.
2. Passionate or exposed to French & European artisan bread making.
3. Mature, hard working, cordial team player & humble personality.
4. Uphold high standard of workplace and food hygiene and care for the equipment is a must.
5. Understand sourdough-related knowledge and its technique.
6. Able create own recipes or tweak recipes to bake different variety of artisan breads according to the customer liking and demand.
7. Able to do mixing to kneading to resting and stretching and folding, ensure all steps are according to strict artisan baking process.
8. Research and development effort is a must, including creating value added products with gourmet ingredients like cheese, ham or herbs.
9. Take extra baking duties when other bakers are off or away for training.
10. Assist section heads at all times in being a good team player, in innovating new products and improve productivity as a whole.
