Qualifications

  • 4–5+ years’ experience in professional baking, including a senior or supervisory role.
  • Skilled in sourdough, lamination, enriched doughs, and slow fermentation.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP.

Our Senior Baker

Our Senior Bakers are hands-on craftspeople who help lead production at our state-of-the-art Bakery. borking closely with the Head of Bakery, you'll play a key role in daily operations—ensuring our signature sourdoughs, viennoiseries, and pastries are baked to perfection every time. With a balance of skill, leadership and calm under pressure, you’ll support junior bakers, uphold quality, and bring consistency to every stage of the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft exceptional sourdough, viennoiseries, laminated pastries, and enriched doughs
  • Oversee fermentation for ideal flavour and structure
  • Support the smooth flow of daily production
  • Mentor junior bakers and foster a collaborative environment
  • Manage mise en place, ingredient collection, and stock levels
  • Champion food safety, organisation, and cleanliness
  • Lead by example in quality control and consistency

What we're looking for

  • 4–5+ years’ experience in professional baking, including a senior or supervisory role

  • Confident managing workflows and mentoring junior team members
  • Calm under pressure, highly organised, and quality-driven
  • Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP
  • Comfortable with early starts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate

Our Bakery is a hub of artisanal craft, producing exceptional sourdoughs, viennoiseries, cakes, tarts and more—all made with care, precision, and Wildfarmed flour. Located at Avalon Farm, our newly built bakery combines traditional techniques with modern equipment, creating the perfect environment for skilled bakers to flourish. We’re a close-knit team of 15, united by a passion for quality and curiosity to keep learning. Through structured development, food safaris, and training opportunities, we’re constantly refining our craft.
