Senior Backend Product Engineer

£85k–£110k + Equity

Hybrid (London – 3 days/week onsite)

Our client, an ambitious and rapidly growing health tech company, is seeking a Senior Backend Product Engineer to join its team in London. You’ll be building high-quality, intuitive web applications that support the health and well-being of 100k's users.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Backend Product Engineer looking to build something that contributes meaningfully to people's lives, in a fast-paced environment where your work has genuine real-world impact. Requirements

• Familiar with user analytics, feature flagging and observability tools. You default to data to guide your decision-making.
• You work closely with PMs, designers, and analysts to make decisions and shape the product together.
• You care about clean code, good reviews, and helping others grow.
• You don’t just ship code, you own it
• You're just as comfortable in technical discussions as you are exploring user needs, product trade-offs, and impact.
• You can take a step back and thing about problems holistically. You challenge assumptions and know when its safe to take shortcuts.

What will you do?

• Lead the full lifecycle of features: from understanding the problem and sketching out rough ideas, to building it, shipping it, and measuring how it’s performing.
• Drive & shape the future of our architectural vision. Helping us scale, move fast and onboard quickly.
• Writeclean, efficient code that’s built to last. Holding high standards for yourself and your peers.

Job requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial experience as a software engineer or equivalent
• Backend craft – Strong experience with a backend , for example PHP, Python, Ruby or C#. Have worked with a range of database technologies and web frameworks etc.
• Comfortable across the stack – You’re not afraid of Javascript or to dive into cloud infra when needed.
• Great verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way to non-engineering teammates
