Senior Backend Engineer

Remote – UK/Europe (UTC±3)

As experts in MEV and Blockchains, they help organisations bridge the gap between research and commercial products. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help shape the future of their platform, playing a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power tools.

Senior Backend Engineer Duties:

1. Architect & Develop: Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs.
2. Enhance Performance: Optimize databases, caching strategies, and system architecture for efficiency and reliability.
3. Ensure Security & Reliability: Implement best practices for security, monitoring, and system health.
4. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
5. Maintain Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, with an emphasis on automation and best practices.
6. Drive Innovation: Contribute to system design discussions, explore new technologies, and influence architectural decisions.
7. Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues: Proactively identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure issues.
8. Support & Mentor: Share knowledge, provide guidance, and help develop junior engineers on the team.

Senior Backend Engineer Requirements:

1. 3+ years of experience in a similar backend engineering role, building and maintaining complex software systems.
2. Proficiency in TypeScript and Rust, with strong knowledge of event-driven microservices, domain-driven design, and scalable system patterns.
3. Ability to design and deploy distributed systems, translating product requirements into efficient, maintainable solutions.
4. Experience optimizing backend infrastructure for scalability, security, and high availability.
5. Hands-on experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD), and deployment best practices.
6. Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Passion for blockchain, decentralized technology, and driving Web3 innovation.
8. Experience in a startup or fast-growing tech company.
9. Knowledge of additional programming languages.
10. Familiarity with Web3 wallets and indexing technologies.
