Job summary

DFYNE is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own and strengthen the key backend platforms that power our product ecosystem. This hands-on role sits in the engineering team and reports to the Head of Development, with responsibility for reliability, performance and scalable design.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations, mentor staff, improve observability, and drive technical standards across the function while tackling production challenges and complex system integration.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial backend development experience in production environments.
• Strong TypeScript or Python development skills.
• Experience with distributed systems and API design.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL performance tuning.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Own production systems ensuring reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Improve existing platforms for reliability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Enhance observability and monitoring across systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations teams.
