Job summary

Chainguard, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform team. You will design and build backend services and APIs powering customer-facing capabilities, including authentication and public APIs used across product lines.

This role emphasizes speed, reliability, and cross-team collaboration in a remote-first setting. You will own features end-to-end, create design docs, and contribute to a roadmap with real deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend production services experience in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency with Go (Golang) or strong readiness to ramp quickly.
• Experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs used across products.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures (containers/Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product and engineering teams.
• Thrives in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs for multiple Chainguard products.
• Own features end-to-end from design through rollout and iteration.
• Create technical design documents and drive clear design plans.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with deadlines and measurable outcomes.
