Chainguard is the trusted source for open source security. We are seeking a Principal Product Security Engineer to lead security strategy and programs across our cloud-native products.

You will embed security by design, drive cross-functional security initiatives, and partner with engineering leadership to translate risk into concrete, ship-ready plans. You will shape the security posture for AI-assisted development, automate vulnerability detection and remediation, and mentor security engineers

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software security ownership of complex products.
• Deep expertise in secure architecture and system design for cloud-native or distributed systems.
• Experience driving org-level risk management and security programs (secure SDLC, AI SDLC, vulnerability management).
• Hands-on familiarity with cloud-native environments (containers, Kubernetes) and security controls.
• Ability to automate security workflows and integrate them into CI/CD.
• Strong communication with senior leaders in a remote-first environment.
