Job summary

Elsevier Wellsheet is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a flagship clinical data platform. You will own platform APIs and internal tooling, focusing on real-time EHR integration and robust data normalization for 100+ hospitals.

You will work primarily on Ruby on Rails back-end services, with TypeScript frontend work as needed, in a small senior team that ships to hospital clients starting in 2027. Prior healthcare background is not required.

Qualifications

• Strong Ruby on Rails experience with Sidekiq on AWS.
• Solid SQL and relational data modeling.
• End-to-end ownership of production systems.
• Debugging temperament and logs-focused troubleshooting.
• Experience with AI-assisted development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own platform subsystems end to end: ingestion pipelines, sync reliability, normalization.
• Keep the stack healthy: framework and dependency upgrades, developer tooling, CI.
• Tackle loosely specified problems through diagnosis, design and durable fixes.
• Maintain correctness and observability as the platform grows to new consumers.
• Pair with the engineer who built the sync/normalization systems and own a production pipeline.
