Metrea is seeking a dynamic backend engineer to join our software development team in the United Kingdom. You will build business software solutions and visualisations for the Enterprise, delivering scalable REST APIs with Python frameworks.

The role requires 6 years of backend experience, Django/FastAPI, cloud (Azure), Docker/Kubernetes, and collaboration across cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• 6 years of backend engineering experience focusing on web development and software architecture.
• Proven experience with REST APIs and Python frameworks (Django, FastAPI).
• BSc-level qualification in Software Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services that align with engineering principles and standards.
• Lead delivery of features to production, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Architect and implement microservices or monolithic architectures to improve functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to code reviews and uphold code quality across the team.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders on design decisions and technical roadmaps.
