Areti Group | B Corp™ is recruiting an experienced Senior Software Developer to join a major UK government programme. This hands‑on backend role focuses on Kotlin with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise, complemented by exemplary TDD skills.

The successful candidate will operate at Senior or Technical Lead level and contribute to the team’s technical direction while actively coding. The role requires active SC clearance and is on-site with travel, with attendance up to once per month at

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin
• Contribute to development with Java and Spring Boot
• Work as a hands-on senior engineer or technical lead within a delivery team
• Help shape technical approaches, standards and engineering best practices
• Produce clean, well-tested code and apply TDD throughout the lifecycle
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews and collaborative problem solving
• Share knowledge and support the development of other engineers
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to the team’s technical direction and engineering culture
• Demonstrate strong Kotlin/Java/Spring Boot skills and TDD in interviews
• Show significant experience as Senior Software Developer, Backend Engineer or Technical Lead
• Have prior software engineering experience in a UK government organisation
• Communicate effectively and work well in multidisciplinary agile teams
