Engine by Starling is seeking Backend Software Engineers to advance the Engine Platform. You’ll work on features for banks worldwide, building new components from scratch and enhancing existing tooling.

The role welcomes engineers at all levels, values curiosity, and emphasizes clean code and automated testing. We code primarily in Java, with cloud-native AWS/GCP, microservices, Kubernetes (EKS), and CI/CD tooling like TeamCity.

Qualifications

• Backend software engineers with a strong foundation in Java and cloud-native architectures.
• Interest in building and scaling banking platforms for multiple markets.
• Ability to work in an engineering-led, collaborative environment with a focus on clean code and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects or functional areas within the Engine team and platform.
