Job summary

Wise seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Partner Experience team in London. You will design and build backend microservices for partner onboarding, permissions, and fraud reporting, enabling enterprise clients to go live faster and manage their day-to-day operations from a single platform.

Work closely with PMs, designers, and cross-functional teams across API Experience, KYC, and FinCrime to deliver scalable, well-documented APIs with robust RBAC and SSO.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying backend microservices in Java/Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of domain-driven design and microservices patterns.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, OAuth2, and versioning.
• Proficient in relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to map complex systems and document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend microservices for partner-facing features.
• Develop SSO integration and RBAC for enterprise partners.
• Build and maintain APIs with strong documentation.
• Collaborate with FinCrime, Compliance, and KYC teams.
• Provide production support and diagnose live issues.
