Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Data Streaming team to build the first-class architecture for streaming process data at scale. You will influence design and deliver a durable streaming layer that decouples data access from the live engine.

You will collaborate with Product, Data Layer, and SRE, own parts of the system end-to-end, and help shape how customers access Camunda's analytics capabilities in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience in Java.
• Experience building/operating analytical serving layers over Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Experience with object storage systems and idempotent upload/commit protocols.
• Strong grounding in data correctness and consistency.
• Track record driving initiatives in ambiguous, new systems.
• Experience leading multi-month engineering initiatives end-to-end.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild analytics product data consumption at scale.
• Design core streaming infrastructure decoupling data access from live engine.
• Build customer-facing streaming capabilities with Kafka integration.
• Make architecture decisions in a small, high-ownership team.
• Participate in L3 support and collaborate with SRE to resolve data layer issues.
