Job summary

Speechify seeks a Software Engineer, Platform to design and build scalable backend services in Belfast, powering payments, analytics, subscriptions, and text-to-speech features. You will own API design, reliability, and performance while collaborating with product and AI teams across a 100% distributed workforce.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, fast delivery, and delivering great user experiences that delight millions, including users with learning differences.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with GCP and cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.
• Ability to ideate and implement efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments; Kubernetes HA deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
