Senior Backend Engineer (Equity only)

As a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer, you will manage server-side code and APIs for our mobile applications. You will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance of features. Your work will impact the quality and stability of our applications, requiring you to write reusable, maintainable code and perform UI tests to optimize performance. You will collaborate closely with the front-end team to ensure system consistency and a great user experience. This role is remote, part-time, requiring only a few hours a day, and offers vested equity in the startup, with a transition to a full-time paid role after launch in 2024.

Responsibilities

• Build REST services using C# and .NET Core.
• Maintain and develop server-side network components.
• Ensure optimal performance of our database and responsiveness to front-end requests.
• Collaborate with front-end developers on integration.
• Write efficient, reusable, and testable code for high-performance applications.
• Participate in API contract design, code reviews, and process improvements.
• Full-stack development skills are a plus.

Requirements

• Strong experience with C#/.NET, Python, or Java.
• Experience with REST or GraphQL services.
• Understanding of the product development lifecycle.
• At least 4 years of web/mobile application development.
• Experience with relational and document databases.
• 4-5 years using C#/.NET Core professionally.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, microservices, and containerization.

Compensation

This is an equity-only role, offering 0.5% equity as part of the founding team. There is no salary until seed funding is secured, after which competitive compensation will be provided. This role is ideal for someone seeking long-term ownership and impact in an early-stage venture.
