Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (Equity only)

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer responsible for managing server-side code and APIs of our mobile applications. Your role encompasses the entire product development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance of features. Your work will directly impact the quality and stability of our mobile apps, requiring you to write reusable, maintainable code and perform UI tests to optimize performance. Collaboration with the front-end team is essential to ensure system consistency and excellent user experience. This is a remote, part-time role requiring only a few hours daily, with vested equity as compensation. The app launch is scheduled for 2024, after which the role will transition into a paid full-time position.

Responsibilities

1. Build REST services using C# and .NET Core.
2. Maintain and develop server-side network components.
3. Ensure optimal performance of the central database and responsiveness to front-end requests.
4. Collaborate with front-end developers for element integration.
5. Write efficient, reusable, and testable code for high-performance applications.
6. Participate in API contract determination, code reviews, infrastructure, and process improvements.
7. Full-stack development skills are a plus.

Requirements

1. Strong experience with C#/.NET, Python, or Java.
2. Experience with REST or GraphQL services.
3. Understanding of the product development lifecycle.
4. At least 4 years of experience in web/mobile application development.
5. Experience with relational and document databases for 4+ years.
6. 4-5 years professional experience with C#/.NET Core.
7. Familiarity with cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, containerization, microservices, and SDI.
8. Problem-solving skills and team orientation.
9. BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10. Excellent analytical and time management skills.

Compensation

This is an equity-only, pre-seed role offering 0.5% equity as part of the founding team. No salary is available until seed funding is secured, after which competitive compensation will be provided. This role is ideal for someone interested in long-term ownership and impact in an early-stage venture.
