Job summary

Ellipsis Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team as an early-stage startup. We value bright generalists who can iterate and ship quickly and contribute to scalable production services handling thousands of QPS with room to grow.

You will implement systems to monitor performance at micro- and nano-second levels and drive engineering initiatives from inception to completion, including real-time data indexing and future architecture work.

Qualifications

• Experience with Rust or other statically typed languages.
• Ability to make informed engineering decisions based on business context.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Demonstrated drive and team-first attitude, high agency.
• 3+ years of experience with Unix systems.
• 3+ years of building and maintaining production-grade software with well-documented code.
• Passion for decentralized finance.
• Experience with blockchain technology, specifically Solana.
• Experience in quant trading.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable production services for high QPS workload.
• Monitor performance at micro- and nano-second levels.
• Lead ambitious engineering initiatives from conception to completion (specification, architecture, implementation, testing, monitoring, maintenance).
• Collaborate with teammates to ship reliable, well-documented code and systems.
• Contribute to real-time data indexing and future scalable architectures.
