Job summary

WareBee is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the contracts that power the product — ingestion pipelines transforming warehouse data into a model, robust APIs, durable storage, and reliable background work. You will ensure observability that lets a small team operate them confidently at 3 am.

Two engines power WareBee: Physical AI and Process AI. You will build systems to feed both, keeping them fast and reliable, and you’ll push back on unnecessary complexity to maintain simplicity and

Qualifications

• Several years building production backends that other engineers extend after you.
• Comfort with relational thinking, schema design, and failure modes of distributed systems.
• A test discipline that means deployments rarely surprise you.
• Bias toward boring, type-safe technology you can hand off.
• Care about the developer experience of the people who come after you.
• Hands-on warehouse, logistics, or supply-chain experience — you’ve seen how a real floor runs (a strong plus).

Responsibilities

• Design APIs and data models that are obvious to the next person who touches them.
• Build ingestion and background processing that handles large warehouse datasets without losing work.
• Pair with frontend and optimisation teammates to ship features end to end.
• Make production legible — tracing, structured logs, useful errors, fast recovery.
• Push back on complexity that does not earn its keep.

The backend is where the digital twin either earns its reliability or quietly loses it. As Senior Backend Engineer at WareBee you will own the contracts the product lives and dies by — the ingestion pipelines that turn warehouse data into a model, the APIs, durable storage, background work, and the observability that lets a small team operate them with confidence at 3 am.

WareBee runs on two engines: Physical AI — a living, spatial model of the warehouse floor, its racks, aisles, and movement — and Process AI, which learns how work actually flows through it. Your systems are what keep both fed, fast, and reliable.
